Location: Cardiff (office/workshop based) and at various locations abroad.
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 dependant on experience
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Full-time
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead our Installation department. This role combines strategic planning, team leadership, and operational execution to deliver global installations from concept to completion. The successful candidate will ensure efficiency, quality, and safety across our projects while fostering a culture of continual improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor the Installation team, conducting progress reviews, resolving grievances, and overseeing training.
- Organise departmental communications, including monthly briefings, weekly supervisor meetings, and daily site briefings.
- Deliver staff inductions and ensure training on safety, processes, and procedures.
- Foster and champion a “cradle-to-grave” approach within the department, ensuring active participation and clear understanding from project conception through to successful completion.
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Oversee the planning and management of multiple simultaneous global installations of varying scope, ensuring successful delivery from conception to completion.
- Collaborate with the Design, Production and Projects teams to align fabrication methodologies with installation requirements.
- Drive continual improvement, promoting efficiency and quality throughout the department.
Project Planning & Execution
- Continuously review project drawings and proposed installation methodologies to ensure they align with the creative and operational vision and intent.
- Ensure a thorough understanding of installation processes through consultation with other departments and detailed analysis of project plans.
- Oversee pre-installation planning, including schedules, risk assessments, packing lists, transportation logistics, and accommodation arrangements.
- Prepare comprehensive plans detailing equipment, materials, and personnel needs, including the coordination of freelancers and contractors to ensure seamless execution.
- Oversee all logistics to ensure efficient transportation, timely delivery, and proper allocation of resources to meet project deadlines.
Site Operations Management
- Conduct site visits to assess specifications, access restrictions, and logistical requirements.
- Oversee daily site operations, including safety protocols, material movement, and staff coordination.
- Oversee the management of construction, rigging, and dismantling phases, ensuring clear labelling, safe transport, and proper storage of components.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a point of contact, alongside the Project Manager, with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Provide regular updates and reports to Project Managers, Design Managers, Production management and Senior Management.
- Ensure clear communication and resolution of issues during installation.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Extensive experience in installation, logistics, and project management within a creative or manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage teams and develop talent.
- Advanced knowledge of installation methodologies, site safety, and logistics planning.
- Brilliant organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with compliance standards, including COSHH and risk assessment protocols.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, Prince2) are advantageous.
