The Role:  Facilities Manager

Location: Cardiff (office/workshop based)

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 dependant on experience
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Full-time

Position Overview: 

We are currently seeking an experienced Facilities Manager. This role involves overseeing the maintenance and operations of our facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, managing projects, and optimising resources.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management, excellent technical and leadership skills, and a passion for creativity. You will be responsible for maintaining a high-quality work environment, managing the facilities team, and supporting our creative projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the facilities to ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality work environment.
  • Coordinate routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance of equipment, machinery, and building infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety protocols to protect employees and visitors.
  • Plan and manage facilities-related projects, including renovations, expansions, and installations.
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Optimise the use of resources to achieve cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external service providers and suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts and oversee the performance of service agreements.
  • Lead and manage the facilities team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment within the team.

Eco Initiatives and Waste Management:

  • Implement and oversee eco-friendly practices within the facilities to support Wild Creations’ commitment to sustainability.
  • Develop and manage waste reduction programs, recycling initiatives, and energy-efficient practices.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainability awareness among staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in facilities management, ideally within the design and manufacturing industries.
  • Demonstrated success in managing facility operations, maintenance, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security.
  • Proficiency in using facility management software and tools for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Experience in managing facilities-related projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to facility-related emergencies and issues.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in facility management practices.
