The Role: Welder / Fabricator

 

Location: Cardiff (Workshop based)

Salary: £26,000 – £28,500 per annum (Dependant on experience)

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week – 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday

Role Responsibilities:

  • Perform Welding operations, using various welding techniques – predominately MIG Welding but also TIG and aluminium, according to detailed engineering/production drawings
  • Fabricate items to the high standards expected of our work, ensuring welds are strong and durable whilst adhering to strict deadlines
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • To conduct weld procedures and inspections to identify defects and ensuring compliance with the specifications
  • The ability to work with different types of metals and alloys, understanding their properties and the appropriate welding methods to use
  • Following strict health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Record Keeping and documentation

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the welding and fabrication industry, demonstrating practical skills and knowledge.
  • Understanding of industry standards and best practices in welding and fabrication processes.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG and aluminium welding. We’ll provide training to achieve our EN1090 standards.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting engineering/production drawings/blueprints to fabricate metal components.
  • Precision and attention to detail with the ability to produce welds and fabrications with high accuracy and quality standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.

 

Desirable Skills

  • Relevant certifications such as City & Guilds, NVQs, or equivalent in welding and fabrication.
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations such as CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) or similar.
